Hey guys! This is just a heads up about an event I'm involved with here in Phoenix. The plan was for me to go entirely hermit this year (or decade), but there are always those things important enough to pull me out of my burrow. One of my dear friends and mentors, Faith Hochhalter—a truly gifted book buyer who put together some of my most successful events—was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I am not the only author who was helped along by her talent and enthusiasm, and all of us who have enjoyed her influence in our lives and careers are eager to help her through this rough time. To assist with her medical bills, several young adult writers are joining together for a fund-raising event: Project Save the Book Babe. The event will be on April 4th in Tempe, AZ; it will include live music, a panel discussion with the attending authors, and an auction of some fun and/or rare items from each author. All the information about the event and the authors attending can be found at ProjectBookBabe.com. Personally, I'll be auctioning some ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) of my books, an early marked up manuscript or two, my dress from the Eclipse prom, and the fluffy original epilogue to Forever Dawn, along with signed books, of course. We're still in the process of putting this together, so more info will be forthcoming over the next week. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow (Tuesday the 17th) so if you're interested in attending and helping us save our Book Babe Faith, hurry over to the site and check it out.

Kristen Stewart talks Datoka

How great is this! In a recent interview with MTV Kristen Stewart says all sorts of nice things about Dakota fanning and says that she really excited about it and cant wait to work with Dakota again!

"I can't wait to actually work with her," the 18-year-old Stewart told us after hearing the Fanning news. "We aren't BFFs yet, but hopefully."

kcullen10 on Live Journal is my favourite person at the moment. Why? Well just read this and go visit kcullen10s page.

so i listened to the twilight dvd commentary with rob, kris, and catherine that i downloaded the other day. i have one word for you: HILARIOUS. rob was classically off-the-wall and continually made fun of not only himself but kristen from time to time as well. they have a really funny dynamic together, and with catherine occasionally trying to be serious about things, well... hilarity ensues.

since i was insanely bored and im just a freak about all things twilight/rob/kristen to begin with, i decided to compile a list of funny quotes from the commentary for y'all to enjoy. some of them are only rob, but there's a lot of back-and-forth dialogue as well. so just in case someone actually has a life and didnt take the two hours out of their day to listen to this commentary without even actually watching anything (at the time the bootlegged version hadnt been leaked yet)... ive posted some highlights. (okay, not some. a lot.) i was able to identify the scenes by what they were talking about and because of the fact that ive seen this movie an ungodly amount of times. soo... follow the cut. ;)

Kellan talks about New Moon

Kellan Lutz has just recently had a interview with MTV where he talks about all sorts of things!

"I'm really excited for 'New Moon,' " grinned the 23-year-old star, stopping by MTV's offices Wednesday to promote the "Twilight" DVD hitting stores March 21. "I go on Sunday the 8th to rehearse and do our screen tests and make sure the contacts fit — which I'm not looking forward to. But we do rehearsals for about a week, and then I go up in April and we start shooting."

"The most interesting revelation of our interview, however, might have been for Lutz rather than us. When we asked him about Summit Entertainment's announcement two weeks ago of the release date for "Eclipse," the actor was genuinely surprised to hear the news that he'd be immersed in Emmett until at least mid-2010.

"That's the first time I've heard that!" he marveled. "I'm the last to know anything. It's been funny doing these conventions that a bunch of us castmembers have been doing, to a bunch of states and countries. The fans know more of what's going on with our jobs than I do!"

Kristen Stewart speaks out!

Late last month, the two engaged in some late-night karaoke while promoting Twilight in Tokyo. Stewart and Pattinson covered Elton John's "Your Song." "Rob could definitely do a musical," Stewart says.

Also belting out tunes were Hugh Jackman and director Baz Luhrmann, who were in Tokyo for the local premiere of Australia. When Stewart first arrived at the bar, Pattinson and Jackman were already engaged in a "really, really elaborate ABBA moment.” Later on, Luhrmann joined Pattinson at the mic. "It was really funny seeing Baz Luhrmann and Rob singing a David Bowie song," Stewart says. "It was a talky one so they both could sort of talk to each other, and they were riffing back and forth."

I bet all of us are wishing we were there to see that!

France is first not NZ

Awww Im quite bummed out now! Remember when I said that the great country of New Zealand (Kiwi Pride) Will be the first country in the world to see New Moon? Well it turns out I was miss informed.

France and Belgium will begin showing New Moon on the 18th which is a day before New Zealand's release date of the 19th. Which I guess is really great news for all you fans in France and Belgium! So congrats guys! But I guess us kiwis should still be happy, I mean we are not a month behind America like we were for twilight, so that still great.

The reason behind the release date

Ever wondered why the DVD release is the 21st instead of the 23rd like it should be?

Well I just found the answer:

Summit Entertainment just announced a release party called “Twilight at Midnight” which will go from 10pm to 12 midnight on the evening of March 20, 2009. Summit knows Twilight has a lot of high school followers that wouldn't be able to do a midnight party on Monday the 23rd due to the school week, so they've moved up the promotional party by three days! That way, it can be a Twilight party weekend! You see, normally new DVDs get released every Tuesday but Twilight likes to do things differently. So even though the March 21st release date isn't new, the reasoning behind it is.

“We wanted to say thank you to all of those who came out in droves last year and helped make Stephenie Meyer's characters and story a truly successful movie,” said President of Home Entertainment, Steve Nickerson. I know that millions of Twilight fans will be very appreciative that they'll be getting their hands on a copy of Twilight earlier than expected.

I think its really great that they recognized that most of the fans are teenagers ( I should really say teenage girls...) and moved the release date to suit them. But its earlier so *Squeal!*
