Hunt for the Clearwaters!

"Casting for the third Twilight movie has begun.

We got our hands on a casting notice for at least three characters in Eclipse.

Find out just what director David Slade is looking for. However, we must warn you that there are a few spoilers…

Riley "is a handsome, blond, clean-cut college boy who falls victim to Victoria," the notice reads. He's in his early to mid 20s and "plays an integral role in Victoria's attempt to murder Bella Swan."

There are two more members of the Quileute tribe and La Push wolf pack in Eclipse. Like New Moon, they are looking for Native American or First Nations actors to fill the roles.

"Seth Clearwater is a "tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin," the notice reads. "Seth idolizes Jacob.

"Seth's big sister is 19-year-old Leah Clearwater and the only female member of La Push: "She is tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair. She would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and her anger issues.""

I dont care who plays him, I have dibs on Seth!!! :P This is exciting news though, already finding actors for the next film. its all going so fast!

Variety addresses the rumors

Variety magazine has just realised an article which addresses all the rumours that are making circulating about the New Moon and Eclipse movies:

"Don't believe everything you hear about Twilight and its sequels. Things are heating up already on the third installment, Eclipse. They haven't even started the second one yet, New Moon. When you've got a robust franchise, filmmakers are eager to get on board. Word is, the Spanish director of The Orphanage, Juan Antonio Bayona, and 3:10 to Yuma helmer James Mangold are both circling the project, but Summit insists that no meetings are scheduled as yet. Both would be strong choices.

As to the last two unfilled roles in New Moon, vampires Jane and Aro, no offers have yet gone out, despite what you may have read. And the role of Leah Clearwater isn't being filled, because according to writer Melissa Rosenberg, she isn't in the script!"

Melissa Rosenburg confirms: No New Moon for Vanessa Leah

we were all concerned when we read the New Moon script and noticed that our favourite snaky girl wolf was missing from the cast list. Speculations that she was already cast came about and rumors about Vanessa playing Leah too. But now Melissa Rosenburg (the scriptwriter) has now confirmed to Twilight Lexicon that Leah has not been cast simply becasue she is not in the New Moon script:

"If Vanessa is auditioning for the role of Leah, she’s written her own pages to read, ’cause I didn’t write ‘em. "

Well that's good to know! but leah's still in Eclipse... I guess we will just have to wait until next year before we find out who get this now 'controversial' role!

But surprisingly enough she didn't mention about any of the other roles... who is going to play Aro?

VANESSA'S NOT LEAH!!!!!!!

Few! I just found a extremely happy and exciting piece of news!

We have all heard of the rumor that Vanessa Hudgens has auditioned for the role of Leah Clearwater right? Well it turns out that the whole rumor started on a Vanessa Hudgens forum site and it was never officially published because it was started before there was a confirmed director which would of made it awfully hard to audition for. And unless Melissa Rosenberg’s (the script writer) version of New Moon is way different than the book, Leah doesn’t show up until Eclipse (Yes there is the party at Billy’s, but it’s a very small part of the book and will probably be deemed unnecessary for the movie.).

And then when the official cast list were posted the rumour mill started to work over time in seeing that there was no Leah Clearwater on the list for open calls. Just reinforcing this Leah rumour even more!

This then lead to Ashley Greene being asked what she thought of Vanessa playing Leah. Now this isn't the direct quote but basically she said that she has never met Vanessa, but thinks she’s great, and she could be good at the part. But in the same interview she also said that she hasn’t read the New Moon script yet. then at the Golden Globes the other night Ashley was also asked that same question again and she replied with "She great!" So of course everyone just assumed that that was her confirming her earlier statement and that Vanessa did audition for the part and now the rumour has really taken off.

So 'Just Jared' (a twilight inside informer) decided to do the smart thing and called up and asked Vanessa’s management about it. According to Vanessa’s representative, "I don’t know anything about the audition. As far as I know, it’s just a rumor." I was sadly one of the people sucked into this rumour and for that I apologize.

But at least, for now, we are now safe! No Vanessa as Leah. But now this brings up another question: Was the rumor that Brenda Song also auditioned for the role of Leah just that, a rumour?
